GOTCH: An American Hero, is a historical novel about Frank Gotch, world heavyweight wrestling champion in the years 1908-1915. Born and raised in Humboldt, Iowa, Gotch was the best known athlete of his era. He was invited to the White House by President Teddy Roosevelt and starred in play that toured the East Coast and Europe. He died unexpectedly at the age of 39, in 1917, but his impact has lingered over the state for decades. Gotch is largely responsible for Iowa's love affair with the sport of wrestling. The 244-page novel has been purchased by a Hollywood movie company and is in the pre-production stage right now. This softbound book sells for $20.00, plus $4 shipping and handling.
